KWR advised Implenia on the sale of its building construction division in Austria to ZECH Bau Austria GmbH. The corresponding contracts were signed by both companies at the beginning of September. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Operational responsibility for Implenia's existing building construction operations in Austria will most likely be transferred to ZECH Bau Austria GmbH on 31 October 2021. Individual projects that are already in the execution phase will be completed under Implenia's responsibility by the existing project teams.

Through this acquisition, the Zech Group is taking an important step in the expansion of its activities in the Austrian market.

This transaction builds on Implenia's strategy to focus on integrated construction and real estate services in Switzerland and Germany, as well as tunnelling and related infrastructure projects in other markets.
