For many years, KWR has been among the undisputed leaders of law firms advising in the field of construction law in Austria and is regularly awarded top rankings in national and international rankings for its excellent work.

Our experience shows that it is essential to deal with the various (civil) legal aspects of a construction project as early and as thoroughly as possible. Our approach is to create an awareness of legal problems and to avoid them even before conflicts arise. However, if disputes cannot be avoided, we will of course support you in court or arbitration to enforce your interests.

We regularly advise our clients on the contractor and client side in infrastructure, building and civil engineering projects, including tunnel construction, and offer legal advice for all phases of your construction project. From the -drawing up and negotiation of construction work and designer and consultant contracts, the enforcement or defense of additional cost claims during execution to the pursuit and settlement of claims for damages and warranty claims after handover - we are happy to advise you at any stage.

You can rely on our broad range of knowledge, an excellently positioned team and the extensive industry know-how that our experts bring with them on the basis of their many years of experience.

The expert drafting or review of contracts, the formulation as well as legal review and rejection of additional cost claims, setting of additional deadlines, declarations of withdrawal or the execution of preservation of evidence are just a few typical examples of steps that often cannot be made up for or corrected afterwards. Our early involvement in your construction project can minimize the risk of protracted legal disputes in advance or - if court proceedings are unavoidable after all - secure you the best possible chances in court.

We advise you on the review and establishment of all forms of contracts, be they "classic" (partial) general contractor contracts, contracts for work and services for the commissioning of individual trades, subcontractor contracts, general planning contracts, general terms and conditions of contract or "newer" forms of contract, such as cost-and-fee contracts, alliance contracts or contracts that enable construction to be carried out on the basis of BIM (Building Information Modeling). We also focus on the drafting and negotiation of complex plant construction contracts.

Our team can build on many years of experience in advising and representing architects, special consultants and other consultants. Whether it is the review and drafting of contracts, the enforcement or defense of liability, claims for additional costs or other fee claims - with us you get the expertise you need to enforce your rights.

Should disputes arise before a court or arbitration tribunal during or after a construction project, our experts are at your side with their extensive experience in managing complex construction litigation.

Especially in court, it is essential to develop a suitable strategy as early as possible. To this end, it is essential to have an overview of the relevant case law, as this is the only way to correctly assess the chances of litigation and to plan a sensible tactical approach. With this knowledge and our experience, we will accompany you (if necessary, up to the last instance) through your lawsuit.

Well-prepared and managed litigation can, of course, also be a basis for negotiating economically sensible settlements. After all, even in the context of settlement negotiations, our highest priority is to represent our clients' interests in the best possible way.
