Beatrice Blümel has been an attorney of law and head of the New Technologies & Digitalisation department at KWR since 2022, where she focuses on IT law, intellectual property law, and software, e-commerce and data protection law.
From 2013 to 2017, Beatrice Blümel was a university assistant at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Vienna and in 2016 she was a research assistant at the Supreme Court's Evidence Office. In 2017 and 2018, she worked at the Federal Ministry of Justice in the Austrian Presidency team in the area of copyright law and in 2019 completed her judicial internship in the jurisdiction of the Vienna Higher Regional Court at the Meidling District Court and the Vienna Criminal District Court. In 2019, she started as an associate in a renowned law firm in Vienna and continued her training period in another renowned law firm from 2020. There she specialised in IT law, intellectual property law and data protection law. After her registration as a lawyer in the summer of 2022, she gained valuable experience at the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
