Jörg Zehetner is a founding partner of KWR and an honorary professor at the University of Salzburg. He studied law (University of Vienna) and business administration (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and began his career as an assistant to Professor Heinz Krejci (Institute for Commercial and Securities Law, now the Institute for Corporate and Business Law) at the University of Vienna. Alongside his academic career, he trained as a solicitor. Jörg Zehetner is one of Austria’s most distinguished corporate lawyers. In the annual attorneys’ ranking (peer review; conducted by Trend, formerly Format), he is consistently ranked among the top 10 attorneys in Austria in the fields of company law and/or competition law. Companies, as well as members of executive and supervisory boards, value him as a strategic advisor and draw on his integrated understanding of legal and business contexts.

• Chairman of the Austrian Competition Commission (2018-2022, 2022-2026, 2026-2030)

• Member of the ÖAMTC Executive Committee (Vice-President since 2022)

• Member of the Commission on Competition of the ICC (since 2004)

• Member of the scientific advisory board of the German magazine Compliance-Berater (CB) (since 2013)

• Honorary Professor of the University of Salzburg (since 2011)

• Bearer of the Golden Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria (2018)

• Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Financial Market Law (ZFR) (2011-2017)

• Certified Supervisory Expert (CSE, 2011)

• Member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht

• Extensive lecturing activities, inter alia as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna (since 1995), at the University of Salzburg (since 2000), at the Danube University Krems (since 2008) and at the FH programme of the Federal Ministry of Finance/FH Campus Vienna "Tax Management" (since 2012). Head of department responsible for legal education and lecturer at the FH degree programme in Banking and Finance in Vienna (1998-2008). Lecturer at the course "Supervisory Board" of the WKO/UBIT (since 2010).

• Author of numerous specialist books (including antitrust law, cession law, stock option law, equity substitution law, cooperative law, private law), commentaries (HGB/UGB, AktG, GmbHG, GenG, WAG), articles and decision reviews, co-editor of the GmbH-Bulletin (GBU) (2004-2011), winner of the Walther Kastner Prize 1999.
